It has been too long since I've been to Portia's. The food is always delicious and the conversations are warm. Ran into an old friend while I was there.❤ I will make sure that going forward I will not stay away too long.

This is by far my favorite place to eat breakfast. Best food around, and from the moment I walked in the door, the ladies in this cafe made me feel as if I had been going there for years. Their service is outstanding and the price of your food is great! I can't wait to go back!

Awesome as always! Had the fried chicken today, same as it was 20 years ago. My youngest had Portias sweet tea in her bottle....she's 22 now! Love this place!

Cute place. Coffee hot and wait staff very friendly and attentive! Service was quick. Portions were adequate. Place was clean and comfortable. Only issue was the portion size and it wasn't bad but everything thing else was awesome so add a few more potatoes please.

Just like a home cooked meal. Hamburger steak special — like meatloaf with different seasoning. Mashed potatoes tasted real not boxed. Friendliest staff. Diverse customers. You’ll feel welcome no matter who you are. Definitely a Kansas City monument. Can’t wait to try breakfast sometime.

Everytime I go in there they treat me like family. I've been going there ever since I can remember. Definitely the best in Kansas City. I love you Portia and I love you Trish! My kid will definitely be going in there when he comes into this world. Thanks to my dad I have been given the opportunity to get to know them individually. And I love them!

I will say the fact that this diner has been around for so long speaks for it's self. The food,service,owner,staff, and guest is what keeps me coming back since 1982. If your looking for great food, and people look no more you have found it and it's a diner on the NorthEast of Kansas City, and it's called PORTIA'S CAFE!

This is the absolute BEST OF THE BEST place to get homestyle cooking. According to our waitress, "Chef Grandma" makes a mass quantity Lunch Special everyday for $10 a plate. We had Porkchops, Farmer style green beans, & Mashed potatoes and gravy. It was literally worth every penny & more! The leftovers were still phenomenal for dinner that night! If you ever get the chance to stop in, Do! Even if your visits just to get a piece of homemade, the same day, cobbler or pie! Divine! Enjoy!

Good food, great people. Special is usually pretty good. Thursday pan fried chicken is 5 stars but good luck getting in. Pie crust is excellent while the pie last. Highly recommend trying this place. Building and decor is dated but great experience.

Daily lunch special is lots of down home cooking food for $10. Today was fried chicken, mashed potatoes w/gravy, corn, green beans, roll & tea. Place is small & it gets busy but staff is friendly. They have a counter & tables that you might have to share with other diners. They have a board on the wall listing the daily specials as well as a small menu. I recommend you try it at least once.

Great specials at lunch, but get there early, especially on Thursdays for the fried chicken! Great service, and prices!

Open Monday thru Friday from 6 to 2. Lunch special every day. Good home cooked meals. Simple dining. Parking lot is small but there is plenty of street parking. Great family owned business and extremely pleasant service.

Portia and Trish make this an epic diner. It's full of dynamic personalities and hometown love. The place has many regulars. Herald Price eats there Monday through Friday. They are, as they should be, closed on the Holidays. Homemade hometown food that will leave you more. I was called honey and sweetie so many times I felt like my own mother worked there. Eat there!

This little joint is a gem of good greasy spoon dining. Everyone that walks in the door is "baby," "honey," or "sweetheart." You'll feel right at home when you sit down.The portions are hearty and the ambiance is nothing short of southern comfort. Since I'm primarily a breakfast person, I've only had breakfast here. Everything is delicious.
